ISLE OF PATIENCE There' a lighthousekeeper, standing up on a tower, He's looking out for ships to come, He looks like a symbol of power. But no light works, the place looks rather cold, And still the man is holding on, he must be very old! Fourty years or more he's doing that job! A boring time, and no ships in sight! Fourty years or more, just wasting time, Millions of miles far from home! Thirteen years ago, when the line was last closed, The old man refused to go, Prefered to stay on the isle. Thirteen years ago, when the last ship passed the sky, The lighthousekeeper waited long, Sometimes asking "Why?" Thirteen years or more, since someone passed. A boring time, especially at night! Thirteen years or more he listened carefully, But no human voice reached his mind! including FAITH But in spite of the closedown, He never lost his faith. He just went on doing his work, As if nothing had changed. That's why he still sometimes Climbs up the crooked stairs, Just to check controls, Filling his heart with trust!
